Scene for Commercial

This is a scene from my commercial.  I did this rough scene in Photoshop, it did not take too long to do, so if I were to do it in Illustrator it shouldn't take too long.  The bottom photo is another scene I did in illustrator.

Step 1: Ideas:

1. A zombie running around then a man with various weapons and the Zombie Defense logo on his shirt is fighting them off.  Then the logo transitions step by step at the end.

2. Men running around the streets with various weapons fighting off zombies.  All of them have the Zombie Defense logo on their shirts.

3.  A man sitting in his room sees a zombie coming.  The man then opens a closet with the Zombie Defense logo on the door, and finds weapons inside, then he takes out the zombie.

Assignment 5: Commercial Evaluations

Old Spice Commercial
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owGykVbfgUE
This commercial is selling the Old Spice body wash.  The overall tone of the commercial is humorous, the actor brings a lot of laughs to the commercial.  I think this commercial is very successful, the commercial targets anyone that uses body wash and also targets whoever is watching the screen.  Because the actor has grabbed the attention of the viewers people will relate the successful commercial with Old Spice.

The Force: Volkswagen Commercial
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R55e-uHQna0
This commercial is selling the new Volkswagen vehicle.  This live action commercial has a funny tone to it because of the little boy trying to be Darth Vader, then finally he thinks he has some powers at the end.  I think the commercial had a good story to it that once it was over the vehicle stuck in the viewers heads.

2011 Nissan Maxima Commercial
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAF1TtnuhbA
This commercial is selling the new Maxima car.  There is a happy tone to the commercial.  This live action commercial targets anybody looking for a nice car.  The commercial advertises that the Maxima can solve the problem of being a family car while still having a very sporty look.

Doritos Pug Commercial
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpjaOUjUPUc&feature=relmfu
This commercial is selling Doritos chips.  This live action commercial has a funny tone to it.  The pug running and jumping on top of the glass gives the audience much laughs and they will associate this with the Doritos.

Piggy Geico Commercial
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8F_G2zp-opg
This commercial is selling Geico.  There is funny tone to this commercial.  The narrator starts off in the beginning and another  narrator finishes in the end.  The Geico commercials usually have a humorous tone to them, and the little piggy weeing all the way home is funny.

Brochure

This is my Zombie Defense brochure so far.  I used the black and red colors because it fit well with the zombie theme.  I have to adjust some of the images in the brochure and I will also add more text for the final.

Letterhead

For my letterhead I wanted to keep the company info short and simple and placed on the bottom.  I felt that adding the barbed wire behind the logo added more to the letterhead rather than keeping the logo by itself.

Final Business Card

This is my final business card.  I chose the white background for the front because it seemed easier to read and it stuck out more, and I chose the black background for the back because it seemed to fit the zombie theme.

Rough Draft Bus. Cards

These are my ideas for my business cards.  So far just rough sketches.  I wanted to keep them simple and I wanted them to include my company logo.  I am probably leaning towards the cards with the white background.

Project 3: Lyrical Collage

For this project I thought it would be a cool idea to make a collage of some of the things Florida has to offer inside the state.  Throughout the process the different areas of the state allowed the colors to blend in with each other because of the levels of the pictures.

Final Logo

This is the final logo for my company Zombie Defense.  I chose this logo instead of the others because I felt it was the most simple, but yet you can still get the idea what the company is about.

Logo Critiques

I feel the FedEx logo is serious and simple, but at the same time unique.  It is understandable why it is a serious logo, since it is a shipping company.  But it is unique because of the white arrow in between E to X.
I think the Jordan Brand jumpan logo is very effective.  It is simply Michael Jordan dunking a basketball but in a way that is his trademark dunk.  The logo is simple enough and can always be recognized.  The very effective thing about this logo is that it can change colors depending on the colorway of where it is located.
The Burger King logo is very neat.  The logo has the name of the company in the shape of a burger.  The logo and its color way appears it can appeal to everyone of all ages.
I think high class and exclusive when I look at the Cadillac logo.  It seems like a serious logo, and a logo you would see on nice cars.
The Tostitos logo seems very inviting.  The logo attracts anyone who wants some chips.  I think the color way is good because the red represents the salsa, and the dark yellow represents the chips.  It is also very unique because the two T's in the middle are people dipping chips in salsa.

Who is Austin Roher?

Hi, I am Austin Roher.  I am currently a sophomore at the University of Tampa.  I have not yet declared a major, but I am leaning toward business.  Although, I have always enjoyed messing around with Adobe Photoshop.  I have had the software for a few years now, and have taught myself a few things with it.  I hope to learn a lot more with digital arts, and maybe find out if graphic design is the right major for me to choose.
